Coco, Jamie, Ramsey, Squiggy, Ava and Lucy are very THANKFUL to have found wonderful homes! It took a village of rescue partners, fosters, and forever homes to make their dreams a reality.
Coco was rescued from a high-kill Texas shelter where she was surrendered by her owner. Thanks to caring and dedicated volunteers, she was transported to our rescue here in Maryland and found a forever home! Her adopter Julie shares, “Coco is doing wonderfully. She LOVES dirty socks, walks, and playing fetch. We really appreciate everything that AARF has done for Coco and for all the other dogs you work with – we’re so happy we got to adopt a dog who needed a home, and we’re thankful every day that Coco is as sweet and funny as she is.”
Jamie, now Eva, and her siblings were listed on Craigslist when they were only a few days old. A young man had found them without a mother and was unable to care for the kittens. An AARF volunteer stepped up to bottle feed the kittens until they could be adopted. Eva’s adopter, Kate, gave an update on how she is doing: “She is a princess and she knows it. Everyone is madly in love with her. Her new ‘mommy’ is my Pit Bull, Chloe. They are attached at the hip. She keeps getting spoiled with new toys and scratching posts and trees. I couldn’t be happier with her!”
Ramsey, now Tucker, was only eight weeks old when he was found in a roadside ditch in Louisiana. This lucky puppy found a forever home in Maryland and couldn’t be happier! “Tucker is doing wonderfully! He is such a playful and affectionate dog. We have a six-year-old dog named Spike and they like to chase each other in our backyard. Tucker is such a joy and we love spoiling him!.” Stephanie added, “Thank you for helping Tucker find us, his furr-ever family! He has added so much joy to our lives and he is loved very much!”
Squiggy was rescued from the mean streets of Baltimore three years ago as a young adult kitty. Unfortunately, his adopter became very ill and unable to continue to care for him. We are happy to share that we could help Squiggy find a new home! “He is adjusting well and loving life! Squiggy really enjoys sleeping on my bed, playing with his toys (especially his mice and feathers on a string toys), and following me around to every room in my house (it’s too cute!). Squiggy and I feel like a bonded pair of old souls. He is seriously the best cat and I feel so blessed to be his new cat mom,” shares Anna.
Ava was found as a stray and taken to a local animal shelter. She was very timid and shy in the shelter environment, so employees reached out to our rescue for assistance. Ava thrived in foster care and now is in her forever home! Andrea tells us “Ava is a wonderful dog, who we couldn’t love more if we tried! She loves car rides, looking out the window and doors with the cats, going on walks, playing with her dog cousins, and cuddling with her mommy, daddy, and best cat friend Jordie.”
Lucy had been a stray and was trapped, spayed and returned to a cat colony. Volunteers took notice that she was very friendly and didn’t enjoy living outside. Lucy has now been adopted and loves the indoor life! Says adopter Kimberle, “She has settled in beautifully and is very comfortable in her new home. She loves her belly rubbed and loves to cuddle. She also likes to sun herself in the window. She greets me at the door when I come home from work and I couldn’t be happier.”
We love these happy tails! As we like to say, we’re in the business of saving lives. Want to know more about how to help us? Check out all the ways you can get involved.
