Today’s spotlight is on AARF Spokescat, Mittens! We love learning about our lead volunteers, why they got involved, and where they want to see AARF grow!
What was your first pet? I guess you could call my sweet kittens my first pets. Mini-me, Stripes and Grey Boy!
How did you get involved in rescue? I got involved in rescue after teenagers trapped me in a milk crate and set me on fire. I was 70-percent burned. But, after the attack I went back to nurse my babies. BARCS staff, including my beloved Dr. Sherry Seibel, saved my life.
What drew you to AARF? My forever mom, Cindy, is on the board of AARF. So, when AARF asked me to be their spokescat, I couldn’t say no! It gives me lots of opportunities to fight animal cruelty and educate people about kindness to animals. I also get to help partners with the same mission like BARCS, Show Your Soft Side, Project Mickey and PetValu!
What’s your favorite thing about AARF? My favorite thing about AARF is that they focus on helping abused kitties and doggies…like I once was. When cruelty victims don’t get the help they need, the bad guys win. By saving the innocent babies, the good guys win!
Where do you want to see AARF go? I’d like to see AARF grow into a major force in the fight against animal cruelty.
