Today’s featured cats are our bonded pair, Laverne and Shirley. They’d like to tell you a little about themselves!
LAVERNE
Cheerio! My name is Laverne and I am a tall and slender British shorthair that came to AARF with my sister, Shirley. My previous owner was wonderful but could no longer take care of me after she became paralyzed. While I miss her very much, I am certain that there is good fortune in my future with my forever family. I can offer you head butts and kisses, and a pedigree that is long and dignified – much like me. I also love humans of all ages and would be happy to curl up with a young child as much as one celebrating their golden years.
I am not much for being carried, but I will happily jump in your lap and keep you company. It would be behoove you to know that I am quite bonded with my sister, Shirley, and would very much like to go home with her. We’ve been together for two and a half years, and it would be devastating to lose her. However, as any family goes, we love each other except when confined to small spaces. Give us free rein of the house and we will be perfectly content. If you have a sister, you might know how that goes – you love them and sometimes they make you crazy!
SHIRLEY
Good day! My name is Shirley and I am a short and stout British Shorthair mix that came to AARF with my sister, Laverne. If you know anything about British Shorthairs, you’ll know that we have a long history of being well-behaved and dignified. We are devoted to our humans and are content with humans of all ages. I can be a bit quieter and shyer than my sister, Laverne, but I am told I am incredibly sweet-natured.
I would very much like to go home with my sister. She and I are quite bonded, especially after losing our first owner due to a medical injury. Laverne has always been my partner and safe space, and even if she can make m a bit tetchy as sisters are wont to do, I can’t imagine being without her.
