Open your home and your heart.
Foster families provide temporary homes for cats and dogs on the path to their forever homes. As an entirely foster-based organization, AARF relies on our network of incredible homes to help create new beginnings for animals that will best thrive in a home-based environment.
How does fostering work?
AARF foster families provide a comfortable home, food, and love to homeless cats and dogs. We pay for all expenses (outside of food), coordinate veterinary care, and screen adoption applications. As a foster you will be in regular contact with AARF to discuss and organize any medical or training needs and get to select the perfect forever home from approved applications and with the support of our leaders. Fosters are provided onboarding and training and the support of the entire AARF community – be a part of our family!
Please note that we accept animals from a variety of situations (abuse, neglect, medical) which require varying degrees of care or attention. We work with each foster family to help match the animals and care cases that best suit their home, experience, and comfort.
Why foster?
Because – you’re a lifesaver. Each year, we save the lives of hundreds of cats and dogs who may otherwise be out of chances due to homelessness or medical care needs. Many of these animals will best thrive in a home-based environment to decompress, rehabilitate and recover – and put their best paw forward. As a foster, you get to know your AARFie and find their forever home.
The goal is goodbye. You will have the honor of impacting the life of an individual animal: from sick, scared and homeless to happily homed. You not only change their lives- you will brighten your own.
