RESCUED + ADOPTED = AARFily Ever After! That’s what happened to Chip, Pria, Blackie, Tux, Cosmo, Simone and Bolt! Read their stories and help us celebrate!

Chip was one of several dogs to be rescued from a high kill Texas shelter thanks to caring and dedicated volunteers. He was transported to our rescue here in Maryland and found his forever home with Sue and Chuck. Chip is living the good life and enjoys his doggie sibling, Poppy, who is also a former AARF dog. Chip’s new parents tell us that “He fits in perfectly and plays constantly with Poppy.” Thank you Sue and Chuck, for choosing adoption…again!

This sweet kitty named Pria was found as a stray by Tip Me Frederick. She was fostered by Michelle then found her forever home with Justine and her boyfriend! She tells us “Pria is doing so well! She is so fun and playful, but also loves to take naps. She enjoys playing with all of her toys but REALLY loves when there’s an empty box lying around. We are so happy we were introduced to AARF and now have the perfect addition to our family.”

Blackie and Tux were born in the woods, along with their siblings, and brought into our rescue. They were treated for Giardia and then found their forever homes! Tracy intentionally adopted two black cats because she was aware they are the most overlooked color in rescue. These lucky kitties are now super happy and have been renamed Demi and Dickie. Demi likes to sleep by her mom’s side every day and jump out at her brother from hiding places. Dickie loves to be petted and lets his sister play and eat before taking his turn. Tracy shares, “They are the sweetest and most gentle souls I have ever seen.”

Cosmo was surrendered to AARF by his owner when he was eighr months old. His needs weren’t being met, so we were thrilled to be able to help. Cosmo, now named Remy, is living out his doggie dreams and is spoiled by his new mom and dad, Molly and David! He loves going for walks in the park near his home and we hear he will do just about anything for an ice cube! Molly and David share that “He’s a total goofball, gives the best hugs, and charms everyone he meets. We absolutely love having Remy in our family and can’t thank the AARF team, especially his foster family, enough!”

Siblings Simone and Bolt were born in an alley in Highlandtown. They found their way to AARF and now are living happily together with adoptive mom Ruth Ann! It didn’t take long for them to fit in with their kitty housemates; Apollo, Thorin, Bear and Princess. And you can only imagine all the fun toys available for all to play with! Of course, acorns from a nearby tree were everyone’s favorite toy in the fall, but the nylon tent and tunnel are pretty cool too! We are so happy that Simone and Bolt found a safe and fun forever home!

Thank you to everyone who was involved in helping these cats and dogs find loving homes that they can call their own! Without volunteers, none of this is possible. If you are thinking about making a difference in an animal’s life, please join our team – we would love to have you! Woof and meow!
