Muffin’s Story

Muffin was found as a stray by a good Samaritan, and brought to the shelter for care. She was dirty and matted, and appears to have had a old fracture to her front right paw that already healed over. She has an ulcer from where she awkwardly gets around on that leg, which appeared to be non-painful. You can see from the video, however, that it’s a pretty damaged limb.

Poor Muffin! It was determined that, in order to give her the most mobility for a bright future, her right front leg would have to be amputated.

Update – June 12, 2017

Despite her condition, Muffin was nothing but sweet and loving before her surgery, and we’re thrilled to report that trend is continuing! While she’s still sore, she’s in the capable hands of experienced medical foster (and AARF co-President!) Jackie. We hope that she’ll be healed and ready for adoption in a couple weeks!
